Bwindi impenetrable national park-Gorilla Trekking Safaris
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is found in the south western part of Uganda and is also known as the place for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience.
It is a typical tropical rain forest with heavy rains climax from March to April and from September to November. It is popular for gorilla tracking, these gentle primates are highly endangered species and the forest has 360 of those in the entire world.
The best time to visit the mountain gorillas in Uganda is mid-June through October, December running through March.
The national park has six gorilla trekking sectors namely, Buhoma, Nkuringo, Ruhija, nyundo and rubungiri with Buhoma and Nkuringo emerging as one of the most visited sectors.
There are different gorilla families each lead by a dominate silver back. Gorilla habituation which takes longer than the tracking is one of the activities besides tracking and bird watching including some of the endemic bird species. The experience is so fascinating as it gives the tourist more time to learn about the mountain gorillas and their behaviors in daily life.
