Securing a gorilla permit for gorilla trekking in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, requires planning and booking a head of time before the actual date of trekking. The permits are secured form Uganda Wildlife Authority for gorilla trekking in Uganda, Rwanda Development board in Rwanda and  Virunga national park for Congo.

It’s advisable to book gorilla permits 3-6 months prior to the date of Gorilla trekking.  The gorilla permit rate varies according to residence and personality ie; Foreign Non-Residents, Foreign Residents, and East African Residents each paying a different fee.

The Foreign Non-residents permits go for 700 USD, in Uganda, 1500 USD in Rwanda and 400 USD in Congo

While the Foreign residents gorilla permits costs  600 USD, in Uganda, 1500 USD and 150 USD for Congolese residents

The East African residents pay 250000UGX in Uganda, 1500Us for Rwanda and 200USD for SADC nationals
