Itinerary in Detail
Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National park
Drive from Nairobi and travel northwards via the beautiful Great Rift Valley, through Lake Naivasha and Lake Elmenteita en route to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch and check-in into your hotel/lodge of residence.
After here, embark on an afternoon game drive in Lake lake Nakuru National park to see the diverse birdlife majorly the migratory pink flamingos. Apart from the pink flamingoes and other bird species, Lake Nakuru is also famous for its largest rhino sanctuary in kenya, thus look out for Rhinos along the lakeshores of Lake Nakuru. The park is also a home for Buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, antelopes, leopards, pythons, lions, zebras and baboons.
Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 2:Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara
On this this day, you will set out after breakfast, after which you will embark on our self drive journey to Masai Mara Reserve, for an incredible wildlife viewing tour.
Have lunch upon arrival at your lodge of residence, and head out on a n afternoon game drive across the open plains of Masai Mara Reserve. This world’s famous reserve is a home to the diverse wildlife in Kenya
Return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and an overnight. You can spend most of your evening time relaxing and recollecting the highlights of the day.
Day 3: Full day game drive at Masai Mara
On this 3rd day, you will spend the whole day game driving in Masai Mara national Reserve-Kenya’s Wildlife National Park. Both morning and afternoon gamedrive, takes you in search of Africa’s Big five a long side other wildlife including;- Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest, zebras and hippos which are found in Big numbers, though cheetahs and leopards are not easily spotted within the park.
Besides the wild game viewing, Masai Mara also offers the most impressive natural event and truly unfogatteble experience of the great wildebeests migration, together with the herds of Thompsons gazelles, Zebra topi, elands and other predators joining the parade, along the Mara river, between the months of July and August when moving northwards to Serengeti national park in search of green pastures and then southwards in October.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.
Day4: Morning Game drive and transfer to Nairobi
Journey back to Nairobi capital city, after an early morning game drive through the Masai Mara Reserve with an a lunch stop over in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This marks the end of your 4 days self drive safari with self drive Kenya
