Detailed Itinerary for 4 days Olpegeta & Samburu Safari

Day 1: Nairobi to Ol pejeta Conservancy

In the morning, meet up with self drive Kenya driver guide with whom you will transfer to  Olpegeta conservancy, with an enroute stop over at the equator to take photos.  The imaginary line divides the earth into 2 hemispheres that is, northern and southern hemisphere. Thereafter you will proceed for lunch at Serena Sweetwaters camp.

In the afternoon,  proceed for chimp watching at Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary where the orphaned and abused chimpanzees are taken care. It is also the only destination in Kenya with chimpanzees

Return for Dinner and an overnight at the camp.

Day 2: Olpejeta Conservancy to Samburu National Reserve

Have breakfast and leave at 6:30 am for the morning game drive. The conservancy has several wildlife including all the big five animals; elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo) among other game like, black rhino, Grevy’s zebra, the Jackson’s hartebeest, and Chimpanzees.

Return for mid-morning breakfast and proceed to Samburu National Reserve located in Northern Kenya.

Lunch will be served upon arrival at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. Later on, have an evening game viewing drive. Be ready to spot kenya’s rare Northern animal species  of: Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich which are not found in the other popular parks and reserves within the country. It is also hosts all the African big cats (lion, cheetah and leopard), alongside other big game including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, impala, water-buck among others. The park also has birds, that call it a home, out of which 100 species are resident. These include kingfisher, bee-eaters, tawny eagle, guinea-fowl, yellow throated spur-fowl, lilac-breasted roller, red-billed hornbill, secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, superb starling, yellow-billed hornbill and vultures. The unique culture of The Samburu tribe who live in the region is an amazing cultural experience. for the amazing Samburu National Reserve.

Return for Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Set off for an early morning for a full day game drive, which starts at 6:30am. Return for mid morning breakfast and lunch, then return for an evening game drive.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 4: Samburu to Nairobi

Have breakfast at leisure and drive back to Nairobi, with a must enroute game drive as you exit game drive. You will later proceed to Nairobi with optional lunch on the way.
