Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Trip Details of the 10 Days Rwanda Kenya Fly In Wildlife Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Nairobi

Upon arrival, you will transfer to your lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing. Dinner and Overnight stay at the Lodge

Day 2: Nairobi Tour

You will set off with our self drive Kenya 4×4, to Nairobi National Park to look out for wildlife including black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, baboons, zebras, eland, hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, waterbuck, leopards, and hundreds of bird species.

Alternatively, the park also offers other opportunities such as traditional game drives, safari walks as well as spending a night at the park.

After here, you will then proceed to Sheldrick Wildlife trust-home or Orphaned Elephants. You will encounter a number of elephants who were rescued at attender age, and are being fed to Maturity, before they are sent into the wild.

Proceed to Nairobi National Museum, which covers the Kenyan history and Culture. The Museum also offers other attractions including;- Snakes at the Nairobi snake Park, botanical garden, crafts shop etc.

From the Museum, you may opt for lunch en-route, or drive to the nearby restaurant for a fine lunch break, after which you will proceed to the Giraffe Center, for a close encounter with the humble Rothschild Giraffes. These giraffes, can accept kisses from human, and can easily feed from human hands.

Day 3:Nairobi to Masai Mara

From Nairobi, Drive down the escarpment, via the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Village, reaching Masai Mara for lunch and check-in into one of the lodges of your choice.

Go for your first fascinating late afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara reserve, following the meanders of the Mara path ways within the reserve as you search for wildlife including: Wildebeest, buffaloes, Elephants, Zebras, Rhinos, leopards, lions, Hyena etc.

Return to the Lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Full day Maasai Mara

Both morning and afternoon gamedrive, takes you in search of Africa’s Big five a long side other wildlife including;- Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest,  zebras and hippos which are found in Big numbers, though cheetahs and leopards are not easily spotted within the park.

Besides the wild game viewing, Masai Mara also offers the ultimate experience of the great wildebeests migration along the Mara river, between the months of July and August when moving northwards to Serengeti national park in search of green pastures and then southwards in October.

Day 5:Maasai Mara to Nairobi to Volcanoes

Depart Masai Mara after breakfast and head to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport(Nairobi) and fly to Kigali International Airport for yet another fascinating travel experience with Gorillas in Volcanoes national Park Rwanda. You will be provided with another rental vehicle from our sister company Self Drive Rwanda and depending on the time of arrival you can have city tour as you proceed to your lodge in Musanze for Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking and Iby’Iwachu Cultural Visit

Gorilla trekking RwandaStart with morning breakfast at the lodge, after which you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing at Kinigi visitor center about the Gorilla trekking regulations. You will then hit the jungle to search for the Mountain Gorillas. Spend at most 1 hour with the gorillas upon your encounter, as you take pictures and getting to learn about how they live their lives in the forest. Gorilla trekking might take between 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement, location of the gorilla family and the group’s physical strength.

After this you will return back to the starting point and then drive to your Lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

However, if you still have time, you can visit the Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village to enjoy thrilling performances of Drama, Dance and Music from the locals, after then you can return to the Lodge

Day 7: Golden monkey tracking

Just like Gorilla trekking, you will have your breakfast early in the morning and drive to the park headquarters for briefing. Golden monkeys are a rare species that are only found in Volcanoes national Park and Mgahinga national park.

Golden Monkey tracking starts early in the morning and you will only spend an hour with them from the time of contact as you take pictures and learn about their behavior.

Several other primates may also be seen on the way such as white and black colobus monkeys as well as several bird species.

Day 8: Drive to Nyungwe Forest national Park

You will drive to Lake Kivu after your morning breakfast, where you will enjoy a cool morning breeze at the shores, after then you will proceed to Nyungwe Forest national Park. Check in at the Lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

You can also opt to stay at Lake Kivu for a full day for relaxation and canoe ride at the hot springs. Lake Kivu is a tranquil destination where you totally relax after gorilla trekking, or Golden monkey tracking or Dian Fossey Hike from Volcanoes national Park

Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk

Wake up early for breakfast, and head for briefing about the Rules and the regulations of Chimpanzee tracking, after which you will roll into the forest to search for the intelligent chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes between 2-6 hours. You will be allowed to spend at most 1 hour, interacting with them, enjoying great moments upon your encounter. Chimpanzees ar much easier to spot because they jump from one tree branch to another.

You will then return to the Lodge for Lunch, after which head for a 50 km canopy walk, along a swing bridge that is suspended from the large trees. Expect to enjoy the breathtaking vista, as you spot wildlife moving below you.

Return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 10:Return to Kigali International Airport

Early breakfast and drive for 4 hours to Kigali City for a city tour, to visit the Nyanza King’s Palace, the Presidential Palace, various Genocide Memorial centers of Murambi, Kigali Genocide Memorial, the crafts shop, the National Museum of Rwanda, with an enroute lunch. Transfer to Kigali International airport Board your connecting flight back to your home town
