Detailed Itinerary for 7 days Best of Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai mara

Commence your first day safari with a drive  to Maasai Mara National Park with breaks at the view point and Narok to see the natural beauty of the Rift Valley and  buy some snacks as you stretch respectively, before arriving in time for lunch in the Lodge.

You will relax either in your room or at the pool, followed by an evening game drive starting at 4:00pm. You will be able to see wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elephants, some Lions, among others.

Return to the lodge for a delicious buffet dinner and an overnight in the Lodge.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive

Breakfast will be served early, so that you embark on your day 2 game drive which starts at 6:30am. You will immerse yourself into the wide plains of Maasai Mara as you enjoy the beautiful landscape and the animals  roaming around.

Expect to spot the famous Big 5 animal (Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards ),  cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, vultures,  while hippos and Nile crocodiles at the Mara River.

Picnic will be served, then after embark on the afternoon game drive until 6:00pm, when you will return for a sumptuous buffet dinner and a restful night.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Take your breakfast early in the morning, then check out for your next destination of Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will arrive in time for  lunch.

Leave for your evening game drive at 4:00pm, to admire the beauty the lake offers because of the wide flock of pink Flamingo birds. Other common animals to spot are: zebras, Buffaloes, Rhinos, giraffes and some lions.

Return at dusk for a delicious dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Nakuru to Lake Naivasha/Hell’s Gate

Have an early breakfast, pack your bags, and checkout at 7am with an enroute game drive in Lake National Park to catch with cats who have been hunting, especially lions. Look out for the Lions as well as rare white rhinos which form part of the Big five animals. Later proceed to Lake Naivasha and check in  at the hotel/lode.

You will later after lunch go for an hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha for bird watching and hippo viewing.

Return for dinner and an overnight sleep.

Day 5: Hell’s Gate National Park

Early breakfast then embark with your drive to Hell’s Gate National Park for a guided walking tour situated in Naivasha region.

The hell’s gate is one among the best lowland parks in Kenya , that allows for walking or cycling among wild animals such as zebras, Buffaloes, reticulated giraffes, warthogs, Thomson gazelle, antelope, cheeter, and leopard as well as numerous bird species.

After, you can proceed to the Olkaria Geothermal power station, to witness how geothermal energy is manufactured and processed.

You can also visit the Olkaria Spa where natural water from different wells collects through different small pipes into the main pipes that leads water the pool. The spa is also believed to have solutions for many skin problems, because the warm water contains many minerals including highest percentage of sulphur.

Lunch will be enroute, then after proceed to Samburu Game reserve, where you will arrive in the evening.

Dinner and overnight at the accommodation

Day 6: Full Day Samburu

Embark on your full day game drive. Expect to spot animals like Buffaloes, Antelopes, gazelles, Elephants, warthogs, , hippos, impala, water-bucks among others. You will also meet some rare Northern-Kenya animal species  like Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich which are not found in the other popular parks and reserves in Kenya.

The park is also known for bird species like; kingfisher, bee-eaters, tawny eagle, guinea-fowl, yellow throated spur-fowl, lilac-breasted roller, red-billed horn bill, secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, superb starling, yellow-billed hornbill and vultures

Not forgetting the Samburu tribe, where you can reach out and learn more about their cultures and way of living.

Day 7: Return to Nairobi

Have breakfast early in the morning and thereafter drive back to Nairobi with en-route short game drive and Lunch. You will then be dropped at your post safari accommodation or otherwise proceed to Airport to catch up with your flight.
