A Detailed 6 Days Car Rental Kenya With Driver Guided safari

Day 1: Tsavo East National Park

Your safari will commence from your resort in the Diani beach area, as Self Drive Kenya takes you along the picturesque Mombasa-Nairobi Highway. With breaks for refreshments during the journey, you will quickly reach the historic Tsavo East National Park. Here, you can find numerous lions along with a variety of wildlife species to observe, as well as countless birds such as ostriches, herons, and even buzzards. On this first evening, you will savor dinner and accommodations at the park, choosing between the safari lodge or tented camp that suits your preference.

Day 2: Journey from Tsavo to Amboseli

We will wake up early to witness the captivating wildlife as we make our way to Amboseli National Park, arriving around midday. At Amboseli, you will enjoy the expansive herds of elephants that this park is renowned for. This charming little park is sure to impress, particularly with the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro standing tall just beyond its southern edge.

Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru

Today promises to be a day rich in beautiful landscapes as we journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. As we travel, we will journey through the Great Rift Valley and admire the impressive escarpment. We might also pause at Lake Naivasha and Lake Elementeita during our journey.

Before long, we will encounter the stunning natural beauty of Lake Nakuru National Park, characterized by its rugged peaks and acacia forests. By the lake, we will appreciate the pelicans and perhaps even spot some pink flamingos! The park hosts lions, leopards, and both black and white rhinos.

Day 4: From Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

The morning offers an ideal opportunity for enjoying games and observing birds by this mountain lake. We will relish some safari drives here before setting off to the magnificent Masai Mara National Reserve. We will reach the Mara just in time for an afternoon game drive.

When one envisions Africa, images of the Masai Mara are likely to come to mind. This reserve showcases a stunning landscape of rolling grasslands, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with vast herds of zebra and wildebeest, numbering in the tens of thousands and occasionally even greater! Arriving in the Mara means you have truly arrived in Africa. We will be here for several days.

Day 5: Masai Mara national Reserve

We will wake up early to dedicate an entire day to exploring this park, which boasts an astonishing array of wildlife, possibly the highest concentration found in any park in the area. In this location, you can observe the “big five” along with cheetahs, Thompson’s gazelles, giraffes, and a plethora of other wildlife.

We will enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River while observing the hippos and crocodiles. During migration season (July – October), we will witness a remarkable influx of wildlife flowing across the river and into the park.

Additionally, you may choose to partake in optional activities such as visiting a Masai Village or enjoying a hot air balloon ride over the Mara. Simply request your driver or guide to organize them for you.
