3 Days Ideal Mount Kenya Climbing to Lenana Peak

3 days Mount Kenya Naro Moru route climbing follows the quickest (Naro Moru) route to Mount Kenya’s third highest peak of point Lenana, although it doesn’t offer beautiful views of the  Park, like it is with the Sirimone route.

The  Naro Moru route, though easily passable, is characterized by steep and hard swampy region, which crosses the wide Teleki valley, hence offering impressive scenery of the Tyndall glaciers. The route also has bunk houses enroute for overnight rests

Day 1: Nairobi to Mateorological Station

Day 2: Metorological to  Mackinders Camp

Day 3: Mackinders’s Camp to the  Pint Lenana and back to Meteorological Station to the Naro Moru Gate

Day By Day Itinerary for 3 days Mount Kenya Climbing

Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer  to Naro Moru Gate Way to Meteorological Station.

Upon pick up by Self Drive Kenya driver guide, head straight along thika road.  Enroute you will be driven  through the Kikuyu land, with farm lands, which comprises of pineapple & coffee plantations.

Arrive at the foot of Mount Kenya’s Naro Moru gate way for lunch, meet the porters, as well as briefing. Thereafter start your day 1 (3-4 hours) trek to Met Station (3050m)  for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Mackinder’s camp (4,100m).

Make your way to Mackinder’s camp in about 4-6 hours  trek through Teleki Valley. Enroute you will enjoy breathtaking views of all the peaks within the environment. Dinner and overnight at the Camp

Day 3 – Summiting Day – slope to Met Station

Leave the camp under the torchlight at 3:00 am, for point Lenana summit before break of dawn. Spend some time taking phots, as you also celebrate your victory, then after descend down  to Meteorological station, and finally  descend to the gate for your certificate.

Return to Nairobi to be dropped at your post 3 days Mount Kenya
