Trip Details of the 20 days Kenya Tanzania & Zanzibar Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your 20 days Kenya Tanzania and Zanzibar Safari tour. Pick  your 4×4 car from our Self Drive Kenya Representative or our driver guide will pick you and transfer you to your hotel within Nairobi, Spend the rest of the days relaxing in your lodge.

Dinner and Overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: Nairobi Toursheldrick elephant 

In the morning, have breakfast and depart for Nairobi tour, starting with Nairobi National park, where you expect to see game such as black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, baboons, zebras, eland, hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, waterbuck, leopards, and hundreds of bird species. Alternatively, the park also offers other opportunities such as traditional game drives, safari walks and some people can even spend a night at the park.

After here, you will then proceed to Sheldrick Wildlife trust-home or Orphaned Elephants. You will encounter a number of elephants who were rescued at attender age, and are fed to Maturity, before they are sent into the wild.

Nairobi National Museum, which covers the Kenyan history and Culture. The Museum also offers other attractions including;- Snakes at the Nairobi snake Park, botanical garden , crafts shop etc.

From the Museum, you may opt for lunch en-route, or drive to the nearby restaurant for lunch , then proceed to the Giraffe Center, for a close encounter with the humble Rothschild Giraffes. These giraffes, can accept kisses from humans, and can easily feed from human hands.

In case you still have time, you can make the last visit to the Bomas of Kenya. A tourist village where you can learn more interesting stories about the traditional Kenyan culture by experiencing their day today living lifestyles, crafts, music, and dancing.

Other Alternative places to visit while in Nairobi include; Karen Blixen Museum, Utamaduni Craft center, Mamba village for Nile crocodiles, Masai Market, Shopping malls, Marula Studios, City Market, Uhuru Mall, Karura Forest Reserve, Central Park, Kibera tour-visiting one of the largest urban slums in Africa, etc

Day 3: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After Breakfast, Depart Nairobi for Samburu National Reserve, where you will be driven through the center of Kenya, passed the north of the equator to Samburu national Reserve. You will reach the lodge in time for lunch, after which you will proceed for an afternoon game drive, where you expect to encounter animals such as :Lions, Elephants, Giraffes and zebras from the surrounding Savanah plain.

Samburu National Reserve along the banks of River Uaso Ng’iro River which is belived to be the main attraction of wildlife in the Reserve, because of its features including plenty of water, trees and the shade.

Day 4: Samburu

Wake up early for breakfast, and set off for both morning and afternoon game drive with an en-route lunch. Wildlife you expect to spot include; blue-necked Somali ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s Zebra,  Giraffes, Lions, African Elephants etc. not forgetting a visit to the local Samburu village.

Otherwise, you can have the morning game drive and spend the afternoon participating in other activities such as Camel riding, guided nature and bird walks among others.

Day 5: Samburu To Lake Nakuru National Park

Have breakfast  and head to Lake nakuru national park. You will drive or be driven through the Rift Valley floor with an en-route stopover at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. You will arrive at lake Nakuru national Park in time for Lunch, where you will settle and check-in into the Lodge. You will then go for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National park to see the diverse birdlife, majorly the  2+ million of the migratory pink flamingos by which the park is famous for, and are always feeding on the abundant Algae. Apart from the pink flamingoes, the park also home to about 400 of other bird species.

Lake Nakuru is also famous for its largest rhino sanctuary in Kenya, thuslook out for Rhinos along the lakeshores of Lake Nakuru.

The park is also a home for Buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, antelopes, leopards, pythons, lions, Zebras , Reedbucks and baboons.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge

Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

On this this day, you will check out after breakfast, after which you will embark on our self drive journey to Masai Mara Reserve, for an incredible wildlife viewing tour.

Masai Mara National Reserve is a large national game reserve in Narok, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas, world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, African leopard, cheetah and African bush elephant. It also hosts the Great Wildebeests Migration, which secured it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and as one of the ten Wonders of the World.

From Lake Nakuru, you will drive further along the Rift valley Floor, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch.

After Lunch, head out for afternoon game drive across the open plains of Masai Mara Reserve. This world’s famous reserve is a home to the diverse wildlife in Kenya

Return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and an overnight. You can spend most of your evening time relaxing and recollecting the highlights of the day.

Day 7: Full Day Masai Mara

On this day, you will spend the whole day game driving in Masai Mara national Reserve-Kenya’s Wildlife National Park. Both morning and afternoon game drive, takes you in search of Africa’s Big five a long side other wildlife including;- Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest,  zebras and hippos which are found in Big numbers, though cheetahs and leopards are not easily spotted within the park.

Besides the wild game viewing, Masai Mara also offers the most impressive natural event and truly unforgettable experience of the great wildebeests migration, together with the herds of Thompsons gazelles, Zebra topi, elands and other predators joining the parade, along the Mara river, between the months of July and August when moving northwards to Serengeti national park in search of green pastures and then southwards in October.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 8: Mara to Lake Naivasha national Park

Wake up for an early morning game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast, and later depart the Mara region for Lake Naivasha with lunch en-route arriving late in the afternoon with an optional boat ride at an extra cost, otherwise visit the crescent island.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Hells gate National Park to Amboseli National Park

After Breakfast, you will tour the Hell’s gate national park, the park has attractions including the Olkaria & Hobley’s, two extinct volcanoes and the obsidian forms from the cool molten lava. Proceed to the Hells Gate Gorge-also located within the Hell’s gate national Park, lined with red cliffs which contains two volcanic plugs, Fisher’s Tower and Central Tower which is a smaller gorge that extends to the south and of which a path descends into hot springs.

Depart for Amboseli National Park arriving in the evening drop at the Campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10:  Amboseli National Park

On this day, you will go on a full day game drive with a picnic lunch: After breakfast, embark on your full day game drive, driving along the swamp grounds in which elephants and hippos bathe in abundance. A variety of plains game, antelopes and birds can also be seen including Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak(Africa’s Highest Mountain), if weather conditions permit, because Mount Kilimanjaro is best viewed in Amboseli.

NOTE THAT: Amboseli has the most exceptional Ecosystem in Kenya and is the home to Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Return for dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 11: Amboseli National Park to Arusha Via Namanga border

Wake up early for breakfast, and depart Amboseli National park for Ngorongoro crater via Namanga Border. You will first enjoy the morning game drive as you drive out of Amboseli national park to Namanga border, clear yourself, as well as the vehicle, with proper documents and drive further to Arusha. You arrive in your hotel/lodge in time for lunch or in the early afternoon. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the Lodge.

Dinner and an overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 12: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Have Breakfast and later transfer to Tarangire National Park, in Manyara Region.

Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania’s Manyara Region, covering an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles.). The park’s landscape is composed of granitic ridges, river valley, and swamps. Vegetation is composed of Acacia woodland, Combretum woodland, seasonally flooded grassland, and baobab trees(also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it).

The park’s name originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. Tarangire River is the major source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. Thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas during the dry seasons.

The park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. Visitors to the park in the June to November can spot large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon. Predators in Tarangire include lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger, and African wild dog.

On arrival, you will then head for a gem drive around the park, where you will encounter wildlife including antelopes, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes and the supposedly tree climbing pythons not forgetting the extensive collection of birds.

Day 13: Tarangire national Park to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will depart Tarangire national park for Lake Manyara National Park for another incredible game drive. You will spot wildlife like buffalos, giraffes, zebras among other species, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Wall.

Lake Manyara National Park is a protected area in Tanzania’s Arusha and Manyara Regions. The park is situated between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara national park is administered by Tanzania national Parks’ Authority and covers an area of 325 km2 (125 sq mi) including about 230 km2 (89 sq mi) lake surface. The park habors more than 350 bird species which have been observed on the lake.

Dinner and overnight at Campsite.

Day 14: Lake Manyara National park to Serengeti national Park

Breakfast is followed by another morning game drive inside lake Manyara, then exit for the endless Open plains and stunning skies of Serengeti National Park. Later in the afternoon, proceed for a scenic game drive in the rolling grasslands studded with wildlife such as the lions, elephants, buffaloes, Zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, among others. Return in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 15: Serengeti Game Drive

In the morning, have breakfast and later head for a morning, mid-0morning, and afternoon a game drive within the Serengeti national Park. The park is very beautiful with bushy hills, termite mounds, rocky outcrops, and acacia trees which resembles the leopards. Expect to spot; wildebeest, zebras, gazelle, lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetah, African elephants among others. The animal migration is the most spectacular event in the animal kingdom which happens in the month of June

Serengeti National Park is a national park in Tanzania that covers over 14,763 km2 (5,700 sq mi). The park is located in the Mara and Simiyu regions and contains 1.5 million ha of savanna. Serengeti national park is famous for the largest annual migration of over 1.5 million blue wildebeest and 250,000 zebra and for its numerous Nile crocodile and honey badger. It is also the centerpiece of the Serengeti Ecosystem which is twice as large and includes the neighboring Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Maasai Mara National Reserve in bordering Kenya.

Return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight satay

Day 16: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, Enjoy your last morning game drive with picnic lunch box as you exit Serengeti National park into the crater floor of Ngorongoro carter. Enjoy the afternoon game drive and ascend to the lodge for dinner and over night

Day 17: Ngorongoro to Arusha to Zanzibar

Depart Ngorongoro after breakfast for Arusha. You will arrive early for lunch, then connect with a flight from Arusha Airport to Zanzibar Island. Proceed to Semaki Lodge which is situated at Zanzibar coast on the East with easy access to the Beach. Relax in the afternoon, and later have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 18 & 19: Zanzibar Leisure

Full day relaxation at the Beach with optional activities such as swimming, fishing expeditions, scuba diving, kite surfing, snorkeling, stone town tour, spice tour and boat trips among others.

Day 20: Departure

After breakfast, spend morning at Leisure, after which you will proceed to Zanzibar airport, so that you can return to your country or connect to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
