3 Days Mount Kenya Climb Sirimon Route

The 3 days Mount Kenya is recommended for those who are physically strong,  with no or less acclimatization effects. This 3 days  Mount Kenya starts and ends in Nairobi.

This 3 days 2 nights Mount Kenya climbing along the sirimon route goes through 2 major camps of Old Moses’s Camp and Shipton’s camp  with/without reaching Lenana Peak.

Day 1: Nairobi to Nanyuki to Old Moses Camp (3,300m)

Day 2: Shipton’s Camp (4236m)

Day 3: Reach Point Lenana & Descend to Park Gate

Detailed Itinerary For 3 days Mount Kenya Climbing Via Sirimon Route

Day 1: Naromoru / Met Station (3340m)

From Nairobi, transfer to Nanyuki with lunch enroute. You will arrive at the base of Mount Kenya, where you will find  your porters and cooks with whom you will hike the Mount Kenya.

Thereafter, you will proceed to the Sirimon park gate at 2600m, where you will be briefed about the 3 days Mount Kenya Hike via the Sirimone route.

You day 1 hike to Old Moses Camp then begins with a total of 3-4 hours hike, through different vagatation zones of  Forest, Bamboo, rosewood, and heater zones. Settle at the camp as you allow for your body to acclimatize.

Besides, the forest and bamboo zones  are where you may encounter Bush bucks, elephants, and several bird species.

Day 2: Climb to Shipton’s Hut

Following your breakfast early in the morning t the Camp, you will embark on a n 8 hours trek to shipton’ Camp (4236m). You will e required to climb up about 900m to Surreal Mackinders Valley which is covered by the strange Lobelia and groundsel.

Just beneath thee glaciers, we find Shipton’s hut, where you will have dinner and an overnightrest.

Day 3: Hike to Point Lenana and descend to Sirimon Park Gate

Wake up early for a cup of hot tea/coffee, and set off for Point Lenana summit. ou will climb up through the screes, and rocky track , arriving at point Lenana (4986m), when the sun is just rising.

Climbing is a little strenuous and challenging, but then your victory is celebrated as you take photos, view the sun rise over the equator while you have your snacks and more.

After the celebration, descend down to Shipton’s camp for a hearty lunch, then continue further down to Sirimon Gate. You will be met by our driver guide who will return you back to Nairobi to your post 3 days accommodation or rather be dropped at the airport for your scheduled flight back to your home country.
