Detailed Itinerary For 16 days Kenya Car Hire Safari And Watamu Beach Holiday 

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

The driver guide will take you to Samburu National Game reserve, after an early morning pick up from your hotel or Airport. Enroute, you will be driven past many farmlands, cross the equator, and arrive in time that’s perfect for lunch. Spend a little time resting at the Lodge, then take the evening game drive until dusk, when you will return for dinner, followed by an overnight.

Common animals to spot include: Beisa oryx, Reticule Giraffes, Masai Ostrich and the Gravy’s zebras.

Accommodation at the Elephant bedroom or  Samburu Sopa Lodge

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive Samburu National Reserve

Leave for a full day game drive early in the morning after breakfast to search animals in the open grounds of the semi arid Samburu game reserve.

Animals to spot include long necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx and the rare Leopards (mostly seen in early mornings from hunting), not forgetting large number of elephants roaming around the Ewaso Nyiro river which traverses this Park provides evergreen vegetation for the wildlife found in this park. Lunch will be picnic, while dinner and overnight at the Samburu Sopa Lodge or a similar lodge.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve –  Olpejeta Conservancy

Depart Samburu game reserve for Olpejeta Game Reserve in the morning after breakfast. You will find lunch at Serena Sweetwaters Olpegeta conservancy.

The conservancy shelters both the Big Five(Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Rinoes,Leopards) and the Special Five (Grevy’s Zebra, Rothschild Giraffe, Besia Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and Gerenuk).

Other activities at the park include: Lion tracking, visiting the chimpanzee sanctuary, the 2 remaining white rhinos, and exploring the Education Centre.

At 4:00pm, you have game drive arranged upto 6:30pm, when you will return for dinner and an overnight.

Dinner and overnight stay at Sweetwaters lodge

Day 4 : Ol pejeta -Lake Nakuru Game reserve

Start the day with an early morning game drive before breakfast, then after proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park.

With the driver-guide, you will drive along the Great Rift Valley with a break stop at the through the arid lands and the highlands of Kenya. After lunch go for an exciting game drive until 6.30pm in the evening when you will return for dinner & an overnight rest at Flamingo Hill Camp.

The bird life here is world’s famous and over 400 birds’s species take shelter here, such as: White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the few remaining homes in Africa with both White and Black Rhinos and less Rothschild Giraffe.

Dinner and overnight rest at Flamingo Hill Camp.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Depart for  Maasai Mara National reserve, after your morning breakfast. You will pass by Narok town, thereby arriving at Ashnil Mara camp or Sarova Mara game Camp and have lunch.

Afternoon game drive commence at 1600hrs, where you will be driven  through the park in search of the Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Buffaloes, Gazelles among others. Return for diner and overnight at Ashnil Mara camp or Sarova Mara game Camp or a similar camp.

Day 6 &7: Full Day Masai Mara Game Reserve

Following your early morning breakfast,  head for a full day game drive  with a picnic lunch at the hippo poo campsite.

Other animals to look for include, Hippos and crocodiles.

Day 8: Masai Mara Game Reserve  to Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Game drive will be done in the morning before breakfast, later depart for Nairobi in time of lunch at carnivore, afterwards proceed to Amboseli National Park.

Overnight at Kibo Safari Camp

Day 9: Full Day Game drive

At the break of dawn, enjoy an early game drive to look out for Elephants, lions, cheetahs, gazelles, wildebeests, buffalos zebras, warthogs, and other bird species.

Return for breakfast, and lunch, before you head back to the Bush for an evening game drive until 6:30pm.

Return for dinner later in the evening, followed by a night rest.

Amboseli National Park is famous for the large herds of free range elephants and the beautiful view of Mt. Kilimanjaro at the back drop.

Day 10: Transfer to Ziwani camp at Tsavo West National Park

Take an early morning game drive. You’ll arrive at Voyager Ziwani Camp in time for lunch. Set off after lunch for a two-hour guided wildlife walking safari with an experienced guide up to around 16:00 hours. You can just spend the evening walking  around the camp or just relax until dinnertime.  Have a night game drive to see grazing hippos and nocturnal wildlife among others after dinner.

An overnight Rest at Voyager Ziwani Camp

Voyager – Tsavo East National Park

Day 11: Tsavo East National Park

Leave for the game drive early in the morning before breakfast, then proceed to Tsavo East National Park. Arrive at Voi Wildlife lodge for lunch after an enroute game drive, followed by leisure, then in the evening, return for another game drive which starts at  1600hrs. Expect to spot herds of Red Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Gazelles, Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Impalas, and different bird species.

Day 12: Mombasa

At 6:15 hours, take an early game drive before breakfast, and exit the park for Watamu marine National Park and Reserve. The park is defined by 3 bays of: Watamu, Blue Lagoon and Turtles.

Day 13, 14 & 15: Watamu Exploration

After your morning breakfast, the driver guide will take you to Watamu Marine national Park or you can opt for Watamu’s finest beaches.

At the Marine National park & Reserve, you will be urged to register, before you join for a boat ride, so as to have access to sea fish and wildlife like the rare Dolphins. Other additional activities include snorkeling, diving, swimming and so much more.

You can always have lunch by the sea so that you have a taste of some sea foods and local cuisines.

Feel at home while enjoying sun bathing on the white sand beaches of watamu as you observe the beautiful blue Indian ocean waters. Several activities are available at an extra cost.

You will always retire to your lodge for dinner, entertainment and overnight.

Day 16: Transfer to Malindi Airport/Moi International Airport

Take breakfast, then you will transfer to Malindi Airport or Moi International Airport for your flight back to your home country.
