Full Details of the 13 days Kenya Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Full City adventure

Your day 1, begins with a full Nairobi city exploration. Our professional driver guide will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning, or  from the airport, with whom you will embark on your Whole day city tour.

First you will  begin with the Sheldrick Orphanage to see how orphaned elephants are being cared. Proceed then to Giraffe center for an intimate encounter with the giraffes, then after visit Karen Blixen Museum, Nairobi National Museum, the ngong Hills among others.

Lunch will be at the famous carnival restaurant.

Return for dinner at the hotel, followed by an overnight sleep.

Day 2: Full Day Nairobi National Park

Wake up early to be picked by our driver guide, who will take you on a full day game drive in Nairobi National Park.

The park shelters wild animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Gazelles among other. Besides game drives, the park also offers nature walks along the Athi River, for a golden opportunity to spot Hippos, crocodiles and many more.

Dinner will be served in the Hotel, upon your return in the hotel.

Day 3: Transfer to Samburu National Game Reserve.

After the break of dawn, set off after breakfast for Samburu Game reserve. Enroute, you will be driven northwards through Nanyuki, to the foothills of Mount Kenya, and reaching Samburu National reserve in time perfect for lunch. Samburu  National reserve is separated from  Buffalo springs by the Ewaso Nyiro River, where most animals converge to drink water.

Relax, after your buffet lunch, then after embark on your afternoon game drive. Expect to spot animals like Buffaloes, Antelopes, gazelles, Elephants, warthogs, among others.

Return to the lodge after the game drive for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Full Day Samburu Game Reserve Game drive

Be up early for breakfast, so that you can leave for a whole day game drive, so as to see more animals, and other unique creatures along the shores of Ewaso Nyiro River. Picnic lunch will also be served in the bush, whereas dinner at the Lodge, followed by a peaceful night.

Day 5: Drive to Mount Kenya

Have a relaxed breakfast, then proceed for your day 1, Mount Kenya hike to Old Moses Camp.

You will arrive at the Sirimon gate for briefing about the hike, then with the help of a guide, porters and cooks, you will proceed to Old Moses Camp where you will rest and have dinner, then an overnight.  You will hike for approximately 3-4 hours passing through different vegetation zones of Forest, Bamboo, rosewood, and heater zones. Settle at the camp as you allow for your body to acclimatize.

Besides, the forest and bamboo zones are where you may encounter Bush bucks, elephants, and several bird species.

Day 6: Climb to Shipton’s Hut

Following your breakfast early in the morning t the Camp, you will embark on a n 8 hours trek to shipton’ Camp (4236m). You will e required to climb up about 900m to Surreal Mackinders Valley which is covered by the strange Lobelia and groundsel.

Just beneath thee glaciers, we find Shipton’s hut, where you will have dinner and an overnight rest.

Day 7: Hike to Point Lenana and descend to Sirimon Park Gate

Wake up ealy for a cup of hot tea/coffee, and set off for Point Lenana summit. ou will climb up through the screes, and rocky track , arriving at point Lenana (4986m), when the sun is just rising.

Climbing is a little strenuous and challenging, but then your victory is celebrated as you take photos, view the sun rise over the equator while you have your snacks and more.

After the celebration, descend down to Shipton’s camp for a hearty lunch, then continue further down to Sirimon Gate. You will be met by our driver guide with whom you will proceed to Olpegeta Conservancy (Sweetwater), with lunch enroute in one of the restaurants in Nanyuki town.

Day 8: Olpejeta to Lake Nakuru

On this day, you will leave the hotel at 6:25 am for a full game drive, to fine the Big 5 (Lions, Buffaloes, Rhinos, Leopards and Elephants). Other animals to be spotted include Giraffes, Waterbuck, Warthogs, Zebras, Moongose and the chimpanzees for which the conservancy is famous for.

Drive out of the conservancy for lunch treat in one of the restaurants nearby, thereafter, embark on your drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Arrive in the evening for check in, dinner and an overnight.

Day 9: Full Day Lake Nakuru National Park

At the break of dawn, proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park for game drive, that commences at 6:30am. The whole day game drive offers the chance to see flamingos and other wildlife such as buffaloes, rhinos, giraffes and baboons. The park is also famous for both black and white rhino in the sanctuary.

Apart from the above mentioned creatures, the park has more than 400 species of birds in the park.

You will have picnic lunch, while dinner will be served in the evening at the lodge, then an overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Naivasha National Park

Rise up in the morning for breakfast, then proceed to Lake Naivasha, with an enroute 3 hours game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Naivasha is only 90 minutes drive from Nakuru, where you will reach in time perfect for lunch at the hotel.

In the afternoon, you will go to Hell’s Gate National Park for cycling safari, where you will ride alongside various bird types and animals like zebras, baboons, Thomson gazelle, antelope, cheeter, and leopards. Another attraction to be explored is the Fischer’s Tower 25-m high calcium of volcanic rock.

Nonetheless, the Olkaria Geothermal Power station, which uses one of the hottest sources of energy in the world, is another beautiful sought after sight that anyone visiting Hell’s gate national Park should not miss. The site has plumes of steam rising into the air.

Return to the lodge for Dinner and an overnight

Day 11: Proceed to Maasai Maara

In the morning, drive to the Masai Mara national reserve instantly after breakfast.

Lunch will find you at the camp/lodge after you have checked in, followed by relaxing.

At 4:00pm, set off for an afternoon game through the reserve to this vast reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands along with hazy hills where  various animals like Lions, Elephants, buffaloes, zebras among others can be spotted. Return for dinner at the camp or lodge and overnight stay.

Day 12 & 13: Full day game drive at Masai Mara.

On these two days, you will enjoy both early Morning and Late evening game drives in Maasai Mara.

The early morning game drive starts from 6:30am to 9:00am, while the evening game drive begins from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Otherwise, you might also opt for a full day game drive with a picnic lunch, at no  extra cost.

Dinner and overnight at the Lodge or Tented Camp.

Day 13: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru.

Wake up for  breakfast at your own pace, then depart Maasai Mara for Nairobi, where you will be dropped at your post safari accommodation or be dropped at the airport for your flight to back home.

End of Trip
